Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird…it’s a plane…it’s… Superman? Broadway Cares Man?
AIDS Awareness Man? Whatever you want to call him, we’re very excited to have him grace our web-store and the cover of the latest Catalog of Giving. Whether spreading Broadway joy, AIDS awareness, or truth, justice, and the American way, it’s a great feeling to have a superhero on our side.
By now you must know that the Catalog of Giving from Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is not just for the holidays anymore. You can continue to order our one-of-a-kind merchandise all year long. Where else can you find a unique assortment of red ribbon items alongside our signature Broadway Cares Collection, those incredibly popular items adorned with Broadway musical logos? And don’t forget to check us out at the beginning of each month for new featured items, staff picks and great savings!
Our latest Snow Globe is a celebration of Broadway, with the looming buildings of Times Square and the colorful marquees from over twenty Broadway musicals proudly displayed. The Snow Globe is just one of the eleven latest Broadway Cares Collection items this year, and we’re following up our wildly successful Broadway Legends ornament series with another beloved Broadway star—the incomparable Chita Rivera!
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) is one of the nation’s leading industry-based, non-profit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. By drawing upon the talents, resources and generosity of the American theatre community, since 1988 BC/EFA has raised over $160 million dollars for essential services for people with AIDS and other critical illnesses across the United States.
BC/EFA is the major supporter of seven programs at The Actors Fund - including
The AIDS Initiative, The Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative, The Al Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic, The Dancers’ Resource and three supportive housing residences. BC/EFA also awards grants to over 400 AIDS and family service organizations nationwide.
Programs of BC/EFA include Classical Action, which draws on the generosity of the classical and jazz performing arts communities to raise funds for AIDS services and Dancers Responding to AIDS (DRA), the dance world’s ongoing response to the AIDS crisis. Every item purchased contributes to these programs and this vital organization. Whether you shop with us around holiday time or throughout the year, BC/EFA always appreciates your allowing us to succeed in our mission of helping those affected by HIV and AIDS. What we do together makes a difference!
